Process for Adults Pathways to Judaism meets weekly at Temple Emanuel in Newton. The class will meet 28 times taking into account weeks that we do not meet because of holidays, both Jewish and secular, and possibly snow days. Tuition of $650 per couple or $325 per student is due with registration and the balance is due at the first class. Please make checks payable to the Jewish Discovery institute. The JDI has very limited scholarship funds. We also suggest that you speak with your sponsoring rabbi about scholarship possibilities. A partial tuition refund will be available to any student withdrawing before the third session. The Jewish spouse or fiancé is required to attend and actively participate in all parts of our program, including meetings with the sponsoring rabbis. Students are expected to: Meet at least 5 times with their sponsoring rabbi Regularly attend Sabbath and Holiday services complete written assignments Participate in Jewish observance Regular attendance is crucial. We ask that you not miss more than three class sessions. If you know that you will need to miss more classes than this, please contact Rabbi David. There is no expectation or requirement that students enrolling in this course will convert to Judaism. Students who do complete the course can be brought to the beit din with the concurrence of their sponsoring rabbi. Completion of the course does not guarantee conversion. Conversions can only be scheduled by your sponsoring rabbi. Please complete all sections of application. Your sponsoring rabbi must sign your form. If you can’t get your rabbi’s signature, or you are still looking for a sponsoring rabbi, just photocopy the application form and send it in with payment. You can then bring the signed original form to the first class. Please let Rabbi David know ASAP if you need assistance in finding a sponsoring rabbi.
